Yield Guild Games Managers and Scholars Get a First Look into XLD Finance’s xSpend
Following a successful product demonstration at the Yield Guild Games (YGG) Philippines Christmas party, XLD Finance is providing YGG managers and scholars early access to the xSpend platform through its bug bounty program. A limited group of guild members can now use their stablecoins or SLP to pay for utilities or purchase mobile credits. Users are rewarded for reporting bugs and errors encountered, supporting the development of a more seamless experience for all gamers in the future. XLD Finance is reimbursing the full amount of all failed transactions, with an additional 5 USDT per error or bug reported.
Play to earn gamers are pillars of the growing adoption of decentralized finance (DeFi) in emerging markets. Including them in the product development process is consistent with the recently announced partnership between XLD Finance and YGG that aims to pursue long-term projects that drive financial inclusion.
Offramping GameFi tokens to pay for real world necessities remains a challenge for play-to-earn gamers as well as their guilds. This process currently involves high fees and the risk of unsuccessful or fraudulent transactions.
xSpend, XLD Finance’s first project, cuts out the middleman, allowing users to directly spend their GameFi tokens and stablecoins to pay over 350 billers and utilities including mobile prepaid, power, water, and internet services. Publicly launching on 15 December, xSpend will enable users with mobile numbers from Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines to buy mobile prepaid credits. Users can also pay Filipino billers for goods and services, a feature that’s on the roadmap for a global rollout in 2022.
